چکیده

ABSTRACT Objective: In Brazil, there are no studies comparing endoscopic treatment of lumbar disc herniation with the conventional open technique in SUS (Unified Health System) regard to hospitalization time and complications occurring within one year, which is objective this study. Methods: A survey 32 surgeries performed 2019 (11 21 endoscopic) evaluate pain parameters before after surgery (VAS), days hospitalization, complications. The data were submitted statistical analysis (ANOVA) using Kruskal-Wallis test. Results: Fourteen patients female eighteen male, a mean age 41.35 years (p> 0.05 between sexes). pre- postoperative VAS for radiating lower limb similar groups: 8.5 ± 0.82 8.19 1.15 technique. both groups was an improvement pattern significant reduction (p < 0.05) relevance terms improvement. There comparison required, group having number days. reported compatible those found literature (postoperative dysesthesia, new herniation). Conclusions: resulted important factor high impact on costs any surgical procedure, can be determining feasibility minimally invasive techniques. Level evidence IV; Therapeutic Study.

Minimally invasive compared to open microdiscectomy for lumbar disc herniation.

Before the advent of minimally invasive surgery for microdiscectomy, an open microdiscectomy had been the standard surgical intervention. Minimally invasive techniques have recently become more popular based upon the premise that smaller, less traumatic incisions should afford better recovery times and outcomes. From 2005 to 2008 we analyzed the outcomes of 25 patients who received an open micr...

Percutaneous endoscopic lumbar discectomy: minimally invasive technique for multiple episodes of lumbar disc herniation

BACKGROUNDS Although open lumbar discectomy is a gold standard surgical technique for lumbar disc herniation (LDH), surgery-induced tissue injury may actually become a source of postsurgical pain. Percutaneous endoscopic lumbar discectomy (PELD) is introduced as a minimal invasive spinal technique for LDH. The PELD has gained popularity and shown successful results. The authors report the clini...

Minimally invasive discectomy versus microdiscectomy/ discectomy for symptomatic lumbar disc herniation

BACKGROUND Microdiscectomy or open discectomy (MD/OD) are the standard procedures for symptomatic lumbar disc herniation and they involve removal of the portion of the intervertebral disc compressing the nerve root or spinal cord (or both) with or without the aid of a headlight loupe or microscope magnification. Potential advantages of newer minimally invasive discectomy (MID) procedures over s...
